Please try to delete the patch and Beach Bum game content. Once that is done, restart your console and attempt to access GTA Online again. You will get a prompt to download the patch, and then the data. Please do so and this will likely help fix your issue.
Thanks!

Funny how they deleted my reply, guess R* not only won't take responsibility and will only tell you it's your fault, I guess they also will delete any post now that points out how they lie and points out how they won't own up to their problems. You can delete my posts all you want R*, it doesn't change the fact that your company refuses to take responsibility for lying to your fanbase and to help solve the problems you created by not caring. But keep on blaming our Xbox's and Internet service for the troubles with this game that was in beta phase but sold as a fully developed, finished product. Good luck gettin help from the support, their only response will always be to suggest that it's somehow your fault.

I've done exactly what they've said, didn't work, my internet is fine, Rockstar you need to learn only to release things when they actually work...

i have a fix for this, the reason you are getting this error is because you have not got the beach bum update downloaded, all you have to do is while on the single player, go onto the start menu and go to the xbox games store and download the beach bum update and it should work

Rockstar, please read this and announce that to every gta online player. I have found a new way to ensure you don't get that message no more. You have to make an other account and play gta online on that account. once it has worked there, go to your 'real' account and than online, than you don't see that message again, if you see that message again just do it all over again. > @Brian B Please try to delete the patch and Beach Bum game content. Ive done everything they have offered as a solution, it was fine before the patch and now it doesnt work, i even went as far as deleting my save file so now i have to start over in storymode too...Ive had an open ticket about this since november 19th and i get the same responses each time..its pissing me off with these copy and paste bots

I"ve found my solution by myself..

the only thing you have to do is to change the DNS server
Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
Secundary DNS: 8.8.4.4

have had the same problem untill yesterday. I have noted al my steps for you to do. GTA ONLINE should be working after this.

How to delete the Beach Bum patch:

  1. Go to Xbox Home
  2. Go to the tab "Settings"
  3. Click on "System"
  4. Click on storage
  5. Select "Harddisk"
  6. Open the folder "Games and apps"
  7. Select and click "gtav"
  8. Search in the list for "GTA Online: Beach Bum Update" and click it
  9. Click on "Delete"
  10. Start GTA V
  11. Press start and open the "Online" tab
  12. There should be an pop-up saying that you need to install an update in order to play GTA Online. Click on the button saying to go to the Xbox Store.
  13. Wait for it to install and start GTA V again.
  14. Go to the "Online" menu again.

For everyone still with this problem,
setting your DNS may fix it (worked for me.)
primary: 8.8.8.8
secondary: 8.8.4.4

For xbox it is in your network settings,
hope that it fixes it for you guys
