I too have been experiencing the exact same issue and have tried all of the above solutions to no avail. I've got a support ticket opened regarding it but have only gotten the single generic reply asking you to fill out all your console info, etc. and nothing else, even though the tickets been open almost 2 weeks. Here's to hoping something gets fixed.

Only 2-3 different cars spawning
This is strange - I completed the game once without this bug appearing. Now in my second playthrough at around 60% completion the 2-3 same cars spawn all over the map. For me that means SUVs, jeeps and sometimes a taxi. Now I know the common gta thing where the car you drive spawns more than usual and I know that different areas of the map have different cars. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about nothing but SUVs from mount chiliad to south LS! And I have tried everything - restarting the ps3, deleting game data, starting a new game (yep first mission Lamar and Franklin are racing through a city w only SUVs.) and I have even deleted everything from my ps3 but the save game data for gta5. To be fair, the first five minutes after deleting the game data cache the bug is toned down some. Maybe 5-6 different vehicles. But soon it's back to SUVs swarming the streets.
From September 17 to October 10 this didn't happen once. Now it's all that's happening. Hope you guys can patch this - the game is not unplayable but it has unjoyable.

I really hope Rockstar will fix this, because my game is also bugged. Since I'm done with the main story, the whole map is full of Mesas, Emperors, Cavalcades and BeeJay XL. SOMETIMES, other cars do spawn but then it's only a few units and it gets quickly back to the 4-5 cars. I'm fed up with these cars, it wastes the whole gaming pleasure. Why bother saying there are ca. 200 cars if we can only choose between a few that keep spawning in the game?
Other thing: is it possible that you make "rare" vehicles normally available on the streets (or at least put a spawn location as you did with the Adder)? I'm thinking about the Asea, the undercover cop car, the Merryweather Mesa and some of these supercars you can buy on the net - come on, we've bought the game to enjoy it the most possible, so why making such restrictions? Why can't I drive the cars I'd like to? And why did your staff spend so much time to create these models if they can be used once in a mission and then get forgotten?
Please, consider making a patch to fix this - I bet a lot of fans will be happy ;)
Yea the same thing has been happening to me since October, but has gotten much worse as its now only suvs and the occasional taxi and bus. The game, at least for me was awesome until this started happening. It bothers me to no end and has rendered the game unplayable for me. It even affects online for me now. Please R*, I am begging you to fix this bs.
@jnasty0227 ^^^^^ this, happened pretty quickly after the update for me (on Xbox 360). No fun to play in a world full of escalades and minis :(.
Well as I can see I'm not the only one Xbox 360 user that is also a victim of that problem.
I really hope that it get fixed. Since I updated the game I can't play anymore due to the same cars being everywhere, it annoyed me a lot and I just turned off the console.
@ElSedated C'mon Rockstar. We need at least that you ensure the knowledge of this issue. It can be considered a game breaking! Certainly ruins all the experience of the game.
I agree with you. The game is no more playable due to this.
The whole immersion and game experience is now ruined.
Exactly the same thing as the topic creator. One complete game with 2 save files 85% complete with all main missions done. Started another. 60%-ish the way through, right after update 1.07, the game only spawns SUV's/jeeps. From bottom to top, it's not the "gta norm". It's friggin broke and has been since release (for some) and they won't fix it.
Its absolutely unplayable for my style. I was about to start online play and Im the type that pays good money to help my character since I don't have all day to play with a wife and kids. That thought is gone as I will not touch this game until it's patched to bring back the variety you see with most new copies.
Ive tried random things I've seen from doing research on this problem, and some will temporarily soothe the SUV-itis but nothing I've tried (even wiping all gtav content and starting new game) has improved it. It either switches to a diff low end SUV and car and they become all over the map, or it gives you a slightly better variety when changing zones but eventually goes back to 1-2 tops EVERYWHERE.
The only thing left is to use my insurance I put on the game to buy a completely new copy (for measly $3) and see how long it keeps the good variety it had when first starting.
Let's keep this thread alive so Rockstar pays attention to this issue. I don't understand how the first complain about this was made on October 18, now it's December and we don't only not know how to fix it, but also the number of people getting this horrible bug is increasing. C'mon rockstar.....

Exactly. I really can't believe how can GTA V still have those 2005 games bug.
Some of us have had this problem to varying degrees since the first few days. Initially it was noticed by those who had beasted the game through to completion immediately from day one, with problems appearing around the 90% completion mark. In light of new evidence, this seems to roughly coincide with the release of the first update. Since then it's gotten periodically worse and more common, culminating in patch 1.07, so yeah, seems to be that.
It does seem that wiping the game back to the release version fixes this bug, although it does mean staying offline, not using the beachbum dlc, and reintroducing the garage problem, so it's a trade-off for now until a fix is released. I expect save game compatibility may be at risk too.

No way. Look at what I already did at once:
→cleaned the caches
→deleted the 1.07 update
→turn off wi-fi for xbox
→deleted the game on external hd
→reinstalled the game on external hd
→deleted my xbox live profile
→deleted my save data (97.6%)
Thought I was doing the right thing and also thought that the game was going to get normal again. My mistake: when I turned the game on that f**cking SUVs were there AGAIN. Damn I'm really upset.
This is happening since GTA:O patch. Usually late in the storyline.
1.06 more or less fixed it, (still occurs, but rarely and stops when you move to another area)
but in 1.07 its back with a vengeance. Now it happens as early as the first mission.
I rolled back to the unpatched version just because of this.
My cars might vanish from my garage, but at least this bug doesn't happen.
Started for me a few days ago and at one point all I had were SUV's. Wasn't too bad last night (although it had spells of SUV mania which lasted a while) but is really annoying and threatens to take the shine off a game i've really enjoyed.
If Rockstar can't fix it, or are working on it, then they should just be honest about it and say. Ignoring the issue completely, or giving advice they know doesn't work, is disrespecting alot of fans of the GTA series.
