[Updated 11/15/13] Information about the GTA Online Stimulus Package

Question: I heard that all GTA Online players will receive $GTA 500,000. Is this true?
Answer: Yes.  All players who played GTA Online in October 2013 will receive GTA$ 500,000 deposited directly in their accounts as a special Thank You. For more information, see:

Question: I can’t wait to get my hands on the dough! When is the stimulus?
Answer: The date of the stimulus was November 6, 2013. Please stay tuned to this article for any further announcements related to the stimulus.

Question: I heard that the stimulus would arrive in two installments of GTA$ 250,000. Is this still correct?
Answer: This has changed. The stimulus will be deployed in one lump sum of GTA$ 500,000.

Question: Will I get any kind of notification on Social Club or outside the game when my stimulus arrives?
Answer: No, the only notification about the stimulus arriving is in-game through the feed message system. If you would like to receive an automatic email notification whenever there are updates to this page, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page.

Question: How do I know if I’ve received the stimulus virtual currency?
Answer: If you played GTA online in October 2013, you will receive the stimulus. A feed message will appear in the lower-left corner the next time you enter GTA Online. You do not need to do anything to accept the virtual currency. It will simply appear in your bank account. This bank balance can be checked on the character select screen or in the upper-right corner of the GTA Online pause menu, next to the profile photo.

Question: If I am in GTA Online when my stimulus virtual currency arrives, do I have to re-enter Online for it to appear?
Answer: Yes. If you are playing GTA Online when the stimulus is credited to your account, you may need to re-enter GTA Online in order for the virtual currency to appear in your account.  The game only checks for credits at certain points during each GTA Online session, such as when you are entering the online mode.

Question: If, during the stimulus, some people have already gotten their virtual currency but I still don’t have it, should I be worried?
Answer: This is normal. It may take some time for the stimulus to arrive for all players, and it will not happen simultaneously for everyone. We will be updating this page when the virtual currency has been deposited in every eligible player’s account.

Question: I have waited until this article confirms that all eligible players have received the stimulus, but I still haven’t received the virtual currency. Help!
Answer: If the stimulus is over and you have not received any credit, don’t panic – we can help. Here is what to do:

  1. Go to
  2. Fill out the ticket and provide details about the problem you are having with the stimulus.
  3. Important: be sure to enter your platform and Gamertag or PSN ID correctly in the “platform” and “platform name” fields.  Please double-check the spelling and spacing as we will be using this to verify the deposit!

Updated 9PM ET 11/6/13: We have completed the stimulus on both Xbox 360 and PS3.

Updated 4PM ET 11/15/13: We have identified some players who played near the cut-off time on October 31st in their own time zones, who did not receive the stimulus. These accounts received stimulus money today.
