How to resolve Max Payne 3 pre-order code issues

Questions:

  • I pre-ordered Max Payne 3 but I did not get a code in the box or on a separate insert card to unlock my bonus content -- what should I do?
  • When I try to redeem my Max Payne 3 code I get an error message saying it's invalid or already used -- how can I fix this?

Answers: Thank you for searching our knowledge-base for a solution to this issue. We understand that you were excited about accessing this pre-order bonus content and are now may be frustrated that the store did not provide the code or the code you obtained resulted in an error message.

If you pre-ordered Max Payne 3 but the retailer did not provide a code

We are actively investigating some isolated reports that involve stores selling more pre-orders than their purchased stock of codes could accommodate.  Please note that retailers are responsible for tracking their sales of pre-order bonus units and some retailers were only offering pre-order bonus incentives “while supplies last.” We recommend following up with store management and the official customer support channels of your retailer to get clarification about their pre-order policies and messaging.

If the seller is not able to provide a pre-order code, please click Submit a Request at the top of this screen and provide the following information:

  • Country of purchase
  • Retailer game was purchased from
  • Town and Street of store
  • Platform (Xbox or PS3)
  • The code (typed out in the ticket text)
  • Date of purchase
  • Was the game pre-ordered?
  • If yes, when was the game pre-ordered
  • Attach a photo of your pre-order receipt and the final receipt for the game (if applicable)
  • Include your case reference number with your retail store's customer support, if applicable

If you pre-ordered Max Payne 3 and you receive an "Invalid or Already Used Code" error message

These codes are Sony/Microsoft tokens. We do not have access to your Xbox Live or PSN accounts so only Microsoft and Sony can check their statuses.  The fastest way to find out the status of a code or receive a definite answer about why a code is showing up as invalid is to call Microsoft or Sony directly:
