Currently Supported Controllers for GTA IV PC

Question: Can I use my controller to play GTA IV PC?

Answer: We are actively working on adding support for a larger variety of gamepads. For now here is a complete list of all controllers compatible with Grand Theft Auto IV PC: 

  • XBOX 360 for Windows (Controller) 

  • Wireless XBOX 360 Controller 

  • Joytech 360 pad (Controller) 

  • Pelican TSZ360 Pad (Controller) 

  • MadCatz 360 (Controller) 

  • MadCatz 360 Pro (Controller) 

  • MadCatz 360 MicroCon (Controller) 

  • Bigben Controller BB7201 (Controller) 

  • MadCatz Arcade GameStick 360 

  • Logitech Chillstream

For Title Updates later than 1.0.2.0, Direct Input support can be enabled by using the commandline -usedirectinput. The following Direct Input controllers are now supported:

  • Logitech RumblePad 2 

  • Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2 

  • Saitek P2500

Note: Controls are unmapped, user must map controls using Manufacturer's mapping software.

If you are still having issues using your particular controller, another option is to use something like http://xpadder.com/ to map the in-game commands to your device.
