*** Cheat community actively 'hiding' GTA $...

Ok Rockstar listen up!
I am a Dad who has given his son real money to buy GTA $.

He loves your GTA games and to be honest so do I (right back to my PS2 days).

I have been disappointed to see cheaters/hackers/modders rolling in their flashy cars with Billion dollar balances when we both make do with relatively little in comparison.

Therefore I applaud your recent announcement that modded money will be removed soon from the whole GTAO community. Great.

However ... as a user of social media sites like Reddit, you need to be made aware that cheaters are busy swapping ideas and methods to hide money before you remove it!

The current favoured method seems to be creating a 2nd character with a ten car garage, sending it money, then buying 10 expensive cars like the Adder. The intention would then be to sell them after you remove modded money, leaving the cheaters with millions, laughing at Rockstar.

This would not be acceptable to me, and probably many more parents who control the real money that MIGHT flow into GTA in the future.

In summary - please don't just remove money. That's easy for you to implement sure, but you MUST remove items purchased with modded money too. You MUST do this.

It will leave some cheaters with negative balances - so the simple answer is for the game to give them the option of playing on or starting again with a new character.

Frankly if this is not resolved in full, I will never allow the purchase of GTA $ again. And that's gonna hurt you guys as I am not alone in thinking this.

Ok, over to you Rockstar... go clean up Dodge.

Thank you.

Most people are of the opinion that the fix will be more comprehensive than just removing the money, we'll just have to wait and see.

I agree, and to add to that, everyone and their cousin has a tank now because of all the money being distributed and it's ruining a lot of lobbies.

I have a quick story for you . I killed a guy in a random lobby who had a billion dollar bounty on him .. I freaked out and gave all the money away to the other users in the lobby . For me playing the game and collecting bounty . I was put into a cheaters lobby and had all of my money removed . Even my 1.5 million i earned by playing the game 18/7 . had to sleep a few hours a day and eat . Now , in the cheaters lobby , which I joined a random lobby and to my surprise , some random killed a bounty and boom ... gave me over 400 million ... wow , I dashboarded and stated back , and it was too late ... so I submited a request to have it removed and they said NO .. I am a cheater and I have no rights .. then I asked for the $40 I used to buy ingame money and they said they can't do that because by giving away someone else's money , i am the cheater .... thus , if I was walking down the road and i seen someone murder another person , I would be charged for being in the wrong place at the wrong time ,, can you fathem that ? Unreal to me ...

Buying cars etc ... won't help people hide from R,
Im sure R

I agree with your sentiment, but I am also very weary of the idea of losing purchased items.
I had one of these modded bounties placed on me, which a friend claimed and shared with me(we each came away with $1b).
I was also gifted $1b by a random player.
Before this happened, I had just over $800k earned through legitimate means.
However, I have spent quite a lot of money respraying 7 vehicles in my garage.
I sold one and replaced it with another I recovered from a pedestrian, which I customized.
I then bought a Banshee and a Feltzer and had them both customized.
Now, I don't know if the legit cash I had covered the cost of all this, but I have still been earning legit cash since.

There are a couple of other items I bought that I'm not too bothered about losing.
They are a tank and a yacht.

However, when Rockstar get around to adjusting peoples balances, I would be extremely pissed off if I lost the first 8 vehicles I've spent money on.
I'd be a little less upset about the Banshee and the Feltzer, but I could live with losing them as I would just keep earning to get them back.
The other 8 had better remain as I already had those before I received any of the modded cash, and the cost of respraying them could very well have been covered by what I had earned legitimately.

You do realize that GTAV/GTAO has an ESRB rating of 'M' for mature, meaning 17+... I hope the son you speak of is 17+ (as I'm sure you will claim he is, regardless) and these other parents you mention have children of an equivalent age.

That being said, this "Cheat community" you speak of is 99% just a bunch of people who were gifted cash and enjoyed it so much that they are brainstorming in hopes of keeping some or all of their money.

Everyone likes to blames the "Modders" and "Hackers" for the current woes of GTAO, but the ones who deserve the most blame are YouTube and the parents of underage children who purchased the game for them.

The Modders and hackers didn't want their process out there anymore than you and all the other "legit" players did. And anyone who has ever played a FPS online knows the age group of the most common griefers.

I like your post, I think R* should (when patch arrives) remove ALL money and all bought vehicles since all the hacking started. Now of course people may not agree and some people may lose cars they really like but I believe this is by far the fairest way. Obviously don't leave people with nothing so maybe give everyone 200,000 so we can effectively start again and given a week or so people will be legitimately rich again. And GTA:O will be back to how it should be, some people rich and some poor.

The game is rated M, meaning minors cannot purchase the game. It is a parents decision on what their children can and cannot play, not the governments! The govt can suggest what they want till they're blue in the face, it ultimately is the choice of the parent(s).

Lol, that didn't take long - I wondered if I should use the word 'son'.
Thanks to mass media, the whole world knows hundreds of thousands of children play GTA games, probably millions actually. Thankfully I am a parent that can make his own choices using the ratings as a guide not a rule book. I can assure you my son is old enough, moody enough, smelly enough and hormonal enough to cope with this game without murdering anyone in real life, so let's leave it at that!

Okay yes that seems fair enough. What about us that got the money unwittingly and bought ammo and car upgrades? What if we dipped into the cash that was given to us? What about the levels we've earned with the illicit ammo, should that be reset too? If you start on this witch hunt trail where do you end it. I understand this isn't going to be a popular opinion with you but it bears thinking about.

You are right - its a mess frankly. But it's a mess of Rockstars own making and they're gonna have to roll up their sleeves and sort it out!

No pain no gain. GTAO can be awesome, that's what 99% of players want I believe...

Regarding "hiding the money" :
I don't know precisely how it works - but with MY logic, I don't think just moving money from one character to another will work!!!
My guess is, that Rockstar are probably looking at the gamers PROFILE as a whole!!! ;)
So what's the logic in making another character, when Rockstar can see precisely what the individual gamer is (and has been) doing???
Remember : Rockstar are able to see MUCH more than we "mortals" can see in the Social Club stats!!! ;D

Some of us got money we did not want - we contacted rockstar and was told to keep it dont share it - some of us got bounties we didnt want and shared it.
I shared my bounty @I had over 3 milllion before this happened, rockstar took ALL my money and put me in the cheaters lobby for 8 days - I done another charactor and started at level 1 again and earned back my money I have now been in this lobby for over 23 days in total
When this update comes out will rockstar take my money again? Will they remove my level 43 I have now reached? Some people are innocent in all this and been punished for it

I feel your pain, innocent recipients should not be punished like this.

What a mess this all is.

I bet Rockstar wish they could go back in time and never have implemented some features like gifting money...

"i am a dad who has given his son real money to buy gta $."

hah you're a moron then and anything you say is pointless. if you still need to give your kid money for this game then he isn't mature enough for it. who the hell buys their kid a game that is about killing, stealing drugs, going to strip clubs, ----- hookers.

you're the reason i have to listen to little whinny b****** all the time when i play this game.

parent of the year here rockstar! listen to what he has to say!

@kram941 "i am a dad who has given his son real money to buy gta $."

Clearly you people questioning his parenting tactics are cheaters who can't
fault him for trying to stop you all so you attack him as a parent. How about STFU, i'm guessing you're barely old enough to buy the damn game yourself. When that time comes when you have a child and every other kid his age is playing a certain "adult" game, don't let him and win that "parent of the year" award.

-Wrong. I was given large sums of money though, so I see the benefits of having a lot of money. And no, I attacked him as a parent because I think he is a moron for buying this game and encouraging his son to play this game. There are dozens of games out there and hundreds of other activites I would rather enourage my kid to do. What parent WANTS there kid playing GTA?

"i'm guessing you're barely old enough to buy the damn game yourself."
-Very Wrong

"When that time comes when you have a child and every other kid his age is playing a certain "adult" game, don't let him and win that "parent of the year" award."
-Really, that's your arguement? His friends are playing it so he should be able to play it too? Wow... Yeah and I'm gunna go out and buy him some coke too cause all his friends are doing it too.

People have a problem with the dumbass post because ALOT of people enjoy playing online now because they don't have to focus their gameplay around trying to make money, just to enjoy the game. Having a large some of money lets you just go out and explore and do what ever you want.
Example: Me and friend were doing runs up the mountains and seeing what cars were fun to do it with. When ever we wanted one of our other cars, all we had to do is blow up the one we currently had and then call in for a new one, easily spending $30k on insurance. But guess what. It didn't matter at all.

You play the game your way, and people that received money would like to play it their way.

Why do you and this guy care that I have millions of dollars? You think because I have that money I am going to attack you or something? Guess what, having money means nothing. If I wanted to attack you then I would just attack you. You can do a mission and have enough money in 20 minutes to buy enough ammo to attack people for 2 hours.

The only point of this post is annoy and ruin game experience for people.

@kram941 "The only point of this post is annoy and ruin game experience for people."<br>

Wrong.

And the children playing games debate has been done to death elsewhere.

The point of this post is that game players of all ages want a level playing field.

Ruin the game? Hah so funny. You seem to think the money purge is my idea! As if!

Rockstar proposed this and are busy working on it.

So basically you must think Rockstar are ruining the game.

All those industry experts who have lovingly crafted this career highlighting game?

You just want something for nothing, well sadly life doesn't work like that, and neither does this game.

Rockstar dreamed of a vibrant always on community that was balanced and fair, and that's what's coming, get over it!

I commend you for keeping your post clear and concise. I also agree with the sentiment. I do, however, see this as being somewhat difficult to manage. I would like nothing more than to see all ill-gotten goods revoked, but this would require such a large and precise effort that I do have doubts as to whether it is even possible.

Cheers to hoping.

This is the biggest load of crap I've ever read in my life. Of all the things that are BROKEN in this game you can only cry about money? You don't have money because you aren't trying to make money.i could easily make 150-200k in a day playing this game. But instead you whine that they have more than you. Quit crying and put in some work.

You want something to complain about? How about unlimited ammunition for tanks. How about the fact that in less than 30 seconds after getting blown out of a tank they can call in ANOTHER TANK. How about the fact that in a game called GRAND THEFT AUTO there are restricting the cars I can sell and the time period in between those sales. Or God mode and infinite RP missions that after 1.09 l still haven't been patched. Or the promised content like the heists? Or added properties to purchase or the need for a 20 car garage or private helipad?

All those things you should be complaining about your complaining about MONEY. Nobody told your silly @$$ to buy those shark cards. That's YOUR FAULT not the modders who see clearly thru to the GREED and ARROGANCE R* is displaying when you consider the fact they've made BILLIONS of dollars on this game yet they want to sell you FAKE MONEY for REAL MONEY.

I think what really has you pissed is that you didn't get any of that gifted money. And if that's not the reason then you can't decide what to spend money on, wasted it all, and you're now upset at everyone else who's BALLIN' all over your BIG EGO.......freakin' pathetic loser
