Unlinking an account from your Rockstar Games account
Last Updated: June 23, 2026
Question: How do I unlink an account from my Rockstar Games account?
Answer: You can unlink most accounts directly from your Rockstar Games account by following these instructions:
Navigate the Rockstar Games Account Settings Connections page
Ensure you are signed in to the Rockstar Games account you wish to unlink
Select the platform account you wish to unlink
Select Unlink
Select Unlink again when asked to confirm
Xbox network and PlayStation Network accounts
You can unlink and relink Xbox network and PlayStation Network accounts to your Rockstar Games account at any time. Due to the way accounts are linked through Xbox network and PlayStation Network, you may only have one account from each platform linked at a time.
Note: Story Mode and Online Play character progress for the console versions of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 is linked to your Xbox Gamertag/PSN ID. If you link a new account to your Rockstar Games account, understand that you will lose your Story Mode and Online Play character progress.
