Being prompted to download Compatibility Packs in Max Payne 3

Question: When I try to play Max Payne 3, the game says that I need to download compatibility packs. What are these and where do I get them?

Answer: In order to maintain compatibility between DLC-owners and non-DLC-owners, it is necessary for all players to download free compatibility packs.  To do this, go to the in-game Marketplace from the Main Menu  and choose "All Game Add-Ons."  Select the compatibility pack(s) and confirm the free download.
