Rockstar Games Chargeback Policy FAQ
Last Updated: May 13, 2026
What is a chargeback?
A chargeback, also known as a payment dispute or reversal, occurs when a credit/debit card holder or payment account owner disputes a payment with their financial institution, which starts the process for reversing the transaction. This may happen for several reasons, but it is commonly used in cases of fraud or unauthorized payments made from an individual’s account.

Why is there a restriction on my Rockstar Games account?
A Rockstar Games account with an open chargeback may be subject to certain restrictions to prevent the account from making further unauthorized purchases.
If the chargeback is reversed, any restrictions on affected accounts will be automatically removed once the payment status has been updated and confirmed.
