Music not playing when driving in GTA: SA

Question: Most sounds play correctly. Radio stations do not play when entering a car -- why is this?

Answer: When travellig in a vehicle, Radio station music will come from the center speaker if the PC is set to use surround sound speakers (5.1 or more).  If there are only 2 speakers then there is no channel through which the music can be heard.

Go to Control Panel>Sounds and Audio devices. Under Speaker Settings click the Advanced button. Change the speaker setup to reflect the configuration attached to the system and click OK.

Once the game has loaded, press the insert or delete keys to switch the radio stations and ensure that a radio station is selected.
