Rockstar Games Error Code 133

Last Updated: September 10, 2026

Question: What can I do about the following error when trying to launch a Rockstar Games title?

  • The Rockstar Games Services are unavailable and offline play could not be verified (code 133). Please check your connection and try again later. Offline play is only available if the game has been launched recently while online on this computer. If you continue to have problems playing the game, please contact Rockstar Games Support at https://support.rockstargames.com.

Answer: This error can occur when you try to launch a Rockstar Games title without an internet connection or from a Rockstar Games account that has spent an extended period offline.

You can resolve this issue by launching the title while connected to the internet.

Note: You may be required to connect to Online play (if available for your game), sync any progress or save files with the Rockstar Cloud, or ensure that the game files are up to date. To do so, you will need to close the game, temporarily remove any Launch Arguments from your Rockstar Games Launcher configuration, and relaunch the game.

If you are connected to the internet and are still receiving this error, see the following Rockstar Games Support article for additional troubleshooting steps:
