Installation Issues for Max Payne Mobile for Android Devices

Last Updated: July 20, 2023

Question: Every time I try to download Max Payne Mobile, it fails and stops at a certain percentage.  Sometimes I get an error message saying that the download cannot be completed. What can I do to fix this?

Answer: When you first install the game, it downloads the very small installer app (~8MB). This app downloads all game files and needs some additional space available to extract and install the game files.

Usually, issues can happen because the device didn't have the 1.5GB or so available that it needed. Please note that this available space must be available Internal Storage (not SD storage).

Also, in occasional cases, there can simply be a hiccup somewhere along the way, and the second download may never properly begin.

Either way, we recommend to cancel the download, delete everything Max Payne related from your device, and then start the process over.

Go to Manage Applications on your device, then hit "Force Stop" then "Uninstall" on the app.

Then go to your "Uninstalled Apps" tab, and select Max Payne for download. If you do this from the Manage Applications tab, and not the store, you shouldn't ever be charged for a double purchase.

If you continue to have issues, it could be a problem with your connection. Please verify that you are connected to Google Play via a WiFi connection. Most carriers will throttle large downloads over their data networks, so you should connect via Wi-Fi, not 3G/4G.
