No Disc Inserted Error for Grand Theft Auto IV on PC

Question: I receive an error stating “No Disc Inserted” when attempting to install GTAIV on PC.  How can I fix it?

Answer: This error occurs when the installer determines that there is no disc in a local CD/DVD drive. This can also occur during Steam installations if the installation files are not the most recent due to an issue with support for a legacy disc access instruction set.

Disc Installation

Check to make sure that you can view the installation drive and disc.

Steam Installation

If you have a previously installed copy of Grand Theft Auto IV for PC on Steam, verify your local files. You do not need to revoke or activate the product during this process.

• Right-click on the GTAIV install in Steam

• Select Properties

• Select the Local Files tab

• Click to Verify Integrity Of Game Files

This will ensure you have the most up-to-date installation and launcher files and should resolve the issue.
