Mission to Nuevo Paraiso not showing up on the map in RDR: Undead Nightmare

Question: I am ready to go to Nuevo Paraiso but the mission won't show up -- I waited several days but there is still no mission marker to start it and the bridge is blocked. What can I do?

Answer: The marker in New Austin that triggers the mission leading into Mexico will not show up until you have completed certain tasks north of Nuevo Paraiso.  Check your journal and complete any outstanding missions.  The mission marker to cross into Mexico will then appear.
