Players can update their Save Game until they initiate a download of their Save Game on their PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
IMPORTANT: Only one Save Game can be uploaded per console (i.e., one Save Game from PlayStation 4 and one Save Game from Xbox One).
Once the Save Game has been downloaded successfully to a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S console, no further uploads can be made from that account. Any additional progress made on the associated PlayStation 4 or Xbox One console after the migration has taken place will not carry over.
NOTE: PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 saves cannot be migrated.
Verifying your linked console accounts on Rockstar Games
To upload a Save Game you must be a Rockstar Games member with a gaming account linked to your preferred console.
Sign-up or sign-in to Rockstar Games at www.rockstargames.com/socialclub
Under Settings, verify the preferred console account is linked to your Rockstar Games Account
Uploading your Save Game:
Open GTAV on your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One
Go to the Pause Menu in-game
Choose Game and select Upload Save Game
Select Sign-in to Rockstar Games
Select the Save Game > Upload the Save Game
Confirm if the selected Save Game is the one you want to upload on the resulting alert screen.
Wait for the upload to complete
Once the Save Game finishes uploading, you will receive a message confirming its successful upload to Rockstar Games
Players may update the Save Game uploaded to Rockstar Games multiple times, overwriting the previously uploaded Save Game each time, until they choose to download it.
The uploaded Save Game will only be available for download on the new console for 90 days. At which point, the save may be removed, and players will need to upload their save again.
NOTE: Some accounts may not be eligible for migration for several reasons, such as the account being suspended or banned, or having illegitimate or insufficient progress.
Downloading Your Save Game
Once Grand Theft Auto V is available on the selected console, players can download their Story Mode Save Game either via the Landing Page or the in-game Pause Menu.
Downloading the Story Mode Save Game from the GTAV Landing Page:

Select the Story tab on the Landing Page

Reversing Story Mode Migration
