How to upgrade Red Dead Redemption for Xbox 360 to the Xbox Series X|S version

Question: I have a copy of the Xbox 360 version of Red Dead Redemption and would like to upgrade to the Xbox Series X|S version. How do I do this?

Answer: Owners of the digital backward compatible version of Red Dead Redemption can upgrade to the Xbox Series X|S version for free via the Microsoft Store on their console.

• Ensure that you are logged in to the same Microsoft account on your Xbox Series X|S that owns the digital version of the backward compatible Xbox 360 version

• You should then be able to download the upgraded Xbox Series X|S version for free

Note: The digital backward compatible version is playable on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Physical discs of Red Dead Redemption on Xbox 360 cannot receive the free upgrade to the Xbox Series X|S version.
