Last Updated: June 12, 2023
Question: How do I use custom soundtracks to listen to my own music in the Macintosh versions of GTAIII, Vice City, and San Andreas?
Answer: To listen to your own music while playing GTA III, Vice City, or San Andreas on the Mac:
1. Place your MP3 or WAV audio files in the proper directory folder. Shortcuts are not supported.
GTAIII: Supports MP3 and WAV files in username/Documents/GTA3 User Files/User Tracks
Vice City: Supports MP3 and WAV files in username/Documents/GTA Vice City User Files/User Tracks
San Andreas: Supports WAV files in username/Documents/GTA San Andreas User Files/User Tracks
2. When driving a vehicle in-game, select the "MP3 station" to listen to your custom playlist.
Note: Individual audio files are supported in the User Tracks directory, but GTA will not look inside folders that are in User Tracks. For example:
This will not work: <user_name>/Documents/GTA3 User Files/User Tracks/Album Name/My Song.wav
This will work: <user_name>/Documents/GTA3 User Files/User Tracks/My Song.wav
Note: If you have the App Store version of Grand Theft Auto games, you may need to look in the Application Support folder to locate the Grand Theft Auto folders.
