Activation Not Working for Grand Theft Auto IV on PC

Question: I cannot install and activate my copy of GTAIV on PC, what information does Rockstar need to help me solve my problem?

Answer: With the release of Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City will be available on previous platforms as well as the Rockstar Games Launcher.

Steam Users:

Depending on the game, players on Steam will need to install or update their current game:

• Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City will be removed and replaced with Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition in the launcher library.

  • Update file size is expected to be approximately 22GB

• Grand Theft Auto IV owners will download content from Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City and their game will update to Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition

  • Update file size is expected to be approximately 6GB

Physical Media:

Games not previously activated using Games for Windows Live will be able to use the Activation Code on the back of the game manual to activate and update to Grand Theft Auto: Complete Edition

• Download and install the Rockstar Games Launcher:https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/rockstar-games-launcher

• Sign in with your Rockstar Games account

• Click your avatar in the top right

• Select Redeem Code

• Enter your Rockstar Activation Code into the field

 If the GTAIV installation and activation process is not working, please submit a Support Request making sure to include the following information: 

• The GTAIV PC Product Key (Serial Number, CD Key, etc.) from your Steam account, email receipt, or manual

• The Unlock Request Code provided as part of the installation and activation process

• Any error messages you have encountered during the installation
