Rockstar Games Error Code 162

Question: What can I do about the following error code when trying to launch a Rockstar Games title? 

• An unexpected error occurred. Code: 162 Please try re-installing the Rockstar Game Launcher or visit https://support.rockstargames.com for more information. 

Answer: This error usually occurs due to connectivity issues. 

You can resolve it by checking that your network or internet service provider is not using a proxy server or virtual private network (VPN) to connect to Rockstar Games services.

If none of the above resolves the issue, try reinstalling the Rockstar Games Launcher by following the steps below: 

Uninstall and reinstall the Rockstar Games Launcher  

1. Close any Rockstar Games titles  

2. Locate the Rockstar Games Launcher installation folder  

   • Default location: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Launcher  

3. Double-click the uninstall.exe file and uninstall the Rockstar Games Launcher  

4. When asked to uninstall game data, leave the box unchecked  

5. Restart your PC  

6. Install the Rockstar Games Launcher
