Text chat moderation in Grand Theft Auto V Legacy on PC FAQ

What is happening?

We recently implemented a proactive text moderation system in GTAV PC (Legacy) to automatically detect and prevent spam and abusive messages from being sent within chat lobbies.

If a player attempts to send a message that contains language that potentially goes against our Community Guidelines, the player will receive a system alert informing them that the message has not been sent. Their message will not enter the chat lobby and will not be visible to other players. The player will not receive any additional enforcement action.

How is my privacy being protected?

Protecting our players’ privacy has always been a priority. When necessary for player safety, some text chat may be securely retained for a limited period. It will never be sold or rented to third parties.
