Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Universal Updates and Legacy Version Retirements on iTunes

Question: Which versions of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on iOS are being retired? 

Answer: There are currently four updated CTW SKUs live in the iTunes App Store:

• Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars 4.1

• Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars HD 4.1 

• Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (Japanese Edition) 4.1

• Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars HD (Japanese Edition) 4.1

On 12/18/2014, all four versions were updated to the same enhanced version of the game. This will ensure that anyone with a device on iOS 7.0 who has ever purchased the game can receive the new update. Each version now features:

• Universal device support

• Retina Display support for all iOS devices

• MFI controller support

• Updated modern touchscreen controls

• Japanese language support

In January 2015, we will retire the following SKUs leaving the newly updated universal version in its place in all territories:

• Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars HD

• Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (Japanese Edition)

• Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars HD (Japanese Edition)

The updated universal versions of these three SKUs will remain available to anyone that purchased them indefinitely after they are retired and can be downloaded in full by checking your iTunes Purchase History.

The original iOS version is now universal for all iOS devices and will remain available going forward.
