Last Updated: July 18, 2025

Question: When I try to launch my Epic Games copy of Grand Theft Auto V Legacy, I receive the following error. How do I fix this?

  • Failed to verify Epic Games ownership of Grand Theft Auto V Legacy (Code: 152). Please log into the Epic Games account that purchased Grand Theft Auto V and try again.

Answer: This problem can be caused by connection errors between the Rockstar Games Launcher and the Epic Games servers. To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

Sign out and back into the Rockstar Games Launcher

  1. Open the Rockstar Games Launcher

  2. Select your avatar in the top right

  3. In the drop-down menu, select Sign Out

  4. On the new screen, enter your account information for your Rockstar Games account you own the game on

  5. Attempt to launch your Rockstar Games title and see if the error no longer occurs
