Finding clues at the crime scene during The Silk Stocking Murder

Question: I have examined the body at the scene of The Silk Stocking Murder and found the hat nearby.  Still no new location has opened up -- what do I do next?

Answer: Expand your search and look for blood marks on the ground that lead you to the fire escape.  Climb up the fire escape jump to the adjacent roof.  Follow the blood stains and then climb the drain pipe, and jump up one more roof level after examining the ring.  Examine the other half of the library card in the purse located in the corner of the rooftop.  This will unlock the next location.
