Changes in support for Snapmatic Selfies and Mugshots as player Avatars

Question: Can I still use Snapmatic Selfies and Mugshots for my Rockstar Games Avatar?

Answer: As of March 30, 2026, Snapmatic Selfies and Mugshots are only available to use as player Avatars when set via the in-game Rockstar Games Account menu.

To set your Avatar, follow the steps below:

1. Launch Grand Theft Auto V

2. Launch Online or Story Mode

3. Press Esc

4. Press Caps Lock or select Rockstar Games Account at the bottom of the screen

5. In the Rockstar Games Account menu, select the gear icon in the upper right

6. Select Settings

7. Select Change Avatar

8. In the Select a Category drop-down menu, select Snapmatic Selfies and Mugshots

9. Under Select an Avatar, select your photo

10. Select Submit

11. Select OK
