Question: How do I link my Xbox 360 Gamertag to the Social Club?

Answer: If you already know your Gamertag Login or Windows Live ID, proceed to the following Social Club page and link your account:

Before you can access any Rockstar Games Social Club data related to games you are playing, you must first link your game console to us so we know who you are. Please follow the simple process below.

ALLOWING YOUR SOCIAL CLUB ACCOUNT TO RETRIEVE XBOX 360™ DATA

1. Locate your Windows Live ID that is associated with your XboxLive™ Gamertag. If you do not already have a Gamertag or a Windows Live ID.

2. Locate your Windows Live ID password.

3. Make sure that you are logged out of Windows Live Services.

4. Use the Windows Live ID service so we can link your Rockstar Games Social Club account to your Gamertag and start retrieving Xbox 360™ data. You will be prompted to login to Windows Live ID.

After signing in with your Windows Live ID, you will be allowed to return to the Rockstar Games Social Club.

Locating the Windows Live ID associated with your Gamertag

1. Power on your Xbox 360™ and make sure that your Gamertag is completely signed onto Live (a dialog box will pop up confirming this).

2. On the “Xbox Live” system blade, go all the way to the upper left corner of the screen and select your Gamertag by hitting A.

3. Once in the Gamertag menu select “Account management” and then “Windows Live ID.” Confirm each selection with A.

4. Write down your “Windows Live ID” which is listed in the upper right corner of the screen under “Current Windows Live ID".

 

Make sure you know your Windows Live ID password

1. Please skip this step if you already know your “Windows Live ID” password.

2. If you cannot remember the password to your “Windows Live ID” please visit https://account.live.com/ResetPasswordDL.aspx?mkt=EN-US and reset it by following the on screen instructions.

 

Checking to make sure you are logged out of Windows Live Services

1. Use http://account.live.com to make sure that you are currently signed out of your “Windows Live ID.” You cannot link your account if you are currently signed in.

2. If you see an account summary page when you click the link, then you are currently logged in. Please, make sure to click the sign out link in the uppermost right hand corner.

3. When completely signed out of your “Windows Live ID” you should be looking at the Live ID sign in page, now the fun can begin.
