Question: I'm playing Vice City on my 4th Generation iPod Touch (iOS) and am experiencing performance issues such as lagging or crashing.  Help!

Answer: We have received some reports about performance issues when running Vice City on 4th Gen iPod Touch devices.

You may be able to resolve this by closing all applications running in the background and then performing a hard reset:

  • Close all background applications: Double-tap the Home button and close all other applications.
  • Reboot the Device: Hold down the "Sleep/Awake" button for a few seconds and then slide the off button to confirm the reboot.  Let the device sit for around 30 seconds to ensure the shut-down has completed and then hold down the On button to turn the device back on.
If the issue is not resolved, try deleting the app and freeing more space on the device before re-downloading (at least 2.5 GB).

If the game still crashes, try removing other apps from the phone to rule out any potential conflicts.

If you still experiencing performance issues on iPod Touch 4th Gen and you are interested in receiving an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click subscribe at the top of this page.  We are looking into this on our end as well to verify performance and will update this article whenever there is new information.

Update for 12/16/12: This issue has been resolved in iOS version 1.1 which is now available through iTunes.  For more information on fixes included in this update, see: http://support.rockstargames.com/entries/22600322-updated-12-16-12-...
