Question: I downloaded the Undead Nightmare Standalone disc Title Update and I am crashing in Undead Overrun at the start of the game. There are other random bugs too. Help!
Answer: We have received reports of crashing in Undead Overrun on PS3 after the September 12th, 2011 Red Dead Redemption Title Update. We are actively looking into this issue now and will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.
If you are experiencing crashes in Undead Overrun, please delete your PS3 Game Data (not Save Data) from the PS3 Game Data Utility and then allow the game to reinstall. Re-download the Title Update and any DLC you have and try again. It appears that in certain cases the patch is not installing correctly, which could result in the following problems:
Crashing in Undead Overrun
Crashing in the Las Hermanas area in Single Player
Character models being swapped (e.g. Uncle showing up as a cougar)
Inability to access the in-game DLC store (screen may go black and console may reset)
Other bugs that were fixed in the previous Title Update
We are continuing to work on this and will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.
If you are still experiencing the character-model swapping issues, please try deleting the Game Data and allowing the game to reinstall; then re-download the Title Update at boot when prompted.
We also have some reports that this issue may occur if you are attempting to play the Undead Nightmare disc without updating the original Red Dead Redemption patch. If you own both the Red Dead Redemption disc and the Undead Nightmare disc, try either clearing the Red Dead Redemption patch or updating Red Dead Redemption to 1.07 before patching the Undead Nightmare Standalone disc.
