I also have this problem, with the rank and the mewspaper achievement. It´s very annoying!

The fix doesn't work . I'm still stuck at 19/20.

The update did fix the issue.  a few days ago I reached level 20 and received "The Brass" trophy.  Now on this site and within the game's social club, I am at level 19 within the social club and not received any more XP. In game stats show 20/20.  Also, the social club does not show me as getting the Brass trophy.  

+1. Update didn´t work for me, neither. Social Club shows 1135/1140 XP and Level 19 - and I can´t get further XP.

But: Ingame statistics say: level 20/20.

I'm also now shown as level 20, however I did not get the final point of intuition.  I suspect the fix simply alters your level and doesn't actually perform the level up rewards.  It's a minor inconvenience, but it should still be considered a defect.

I got the Brass Achievement after the update and just went into the free roam.  It came up right away, thank you rock star.  I'll see whats up with the intuition and if i have problem with it i'll get back.  Thanks again rock star for all your great work

This has just happened in my game.  Shortly after reaching rank 20 (by completing a street crime mission, and thus auto saving) I quit.  After coming back in I'm shown as rank 19 and no longer gain xp and did not receive my final intuition point.

Is there any progress, it's quite annoying.

Hope this is sorted out soon.  Finished the game, all film reels, etc. and stuck at 19 with no exp gains for the last 4 or 5 cases.  Going to hold off on finishing the last 4 street crimes  and missing cars until this is fixed, I guess...

Same problem occured to me. I'm looking forward to a prompt action by Rockstar to solve it! 

this happened to me a week arter the game came out i need 8 xp and i have been collecting badges and doing everything i can to rank up   i got the brass achievment   please fix this i want what i worked for thank you rockstar.

Any update. or eta. stuck at 19 and holding off getting the last cars or starting film reels.

I've hit 20 and got "The Brass", but the game reverted me to 19 and the achievements page on the social club says I do not have "The Brass" achievement. You can see it plainly on my Xbox LIVE page for L.A. Noire.

I have also experienced this.  But the wierd part is I've been credited with the achievement on my xbox, but the social club does not recognise I've been given the achievement and still shows it to be outstanding on the tracker (achievment stats) list!

When will be patch for this problem?

Come on guys, how long does it take to fix a little problem like this?  I've finally gotten to 100% game completion, but I'm still stuck at level 19.  So close yet so far.

I also have this problem, I also have all landmarks, and got the achievement for it but it says I have only got 39,

this means it shows I am on 99.9% completion when it should be 100%

Hi Rockstar, You can add me to the list of people who reached level 20, got the trophy and then for some reason went back to level 19. I still get the 5 intuition points on replayed cases though.

I also have been ranked down to 19 - missing 7 XP. I got the trophy and it's visible in PSN thophy list, but it is not synced into my socal club accountID. Strange thing...

2 xp off leveling to 20, but wont let me gain any more xp, even when doing street crimes or collecting reels, also havent got the achievement. Want to be able to do all achievements, but this is one of the last few i havent done.

Just to put people's minds at rest - you can still get the City of Angels gold trophy for 100% game complete with the glitch - the requirement doesn't specify rank.

I've just got the Platinum and I have lost 8XP on my rank so it doesn't affect trophies.

I cant wait till this is fixed im nearly on my city of angels achievement just the golden reels and my level 20

its taking a while to be fixed

Thanks Rockstar for another great game!  I am having this 19/20 problem as well although I have the 20/20 achievement.  Being a programmer myself, I know that with a game of this complexity it is impossible to not have some initial problems. 

Same problem for me - 8XP shy of level 20 but I have the trophy (even though it doesn't show as unlocked on the Social Club).

Also, all my clues and suspects have reset to zero on the social club so I can't track the cases I need to replay to get all the clues.

I also lost % in my game progress, now I dont want to go on collecting, because I'm afraid I don't get the achievement for 100% :/

Have this problem, except I didn't get the trophy either when I hit lvl 20.  The notebook "Intuition" page shows me at level 20, but the Social Site button in game shows me at 1130/1140 xp into lvl 19.

I've got this same issue as well. I found a landmark which bumped me up to rank 20, got the achievement, let it save, then quit the game, and the next day when I booted it up, I was back to rank 19 and unable to gain any more XP whatsoever.

Encountered the same issue, stuck with only 8 EXP needed to level up even though I already did. Also, on this site "The Brass" trophy doesn't show up as unlocked.

Same problem here, i hit lvl. 20 but the stats-page and the social club says lvl.19.

i'm pretty much in the same boat of not reaching level 20, i'm currently level 19 and i need 5 more xp to hit level 20.  I went ahead and finished the game, planning to completly start over and play offline with all new saves.  I went ahead and restarted just to find out that i still couldn't gain xp, even when starting over at rank 1.   its driving me nuts, next solution, try another copy.  ROCKSTAR please help me CURTIS360 (gamertag), boynboots@yahoo.com

I'm having this same problem in my game.  Keep working on the problem and fix it soon as possible.  It is extremely frustrating. 

I hope this can be sorted out i know it can cuz rockstar can do anytin i mean they have made a pile of masterpieces over the years
