Question: I downloaded the steam version of GTA I and it started up the first time, but now crashes at boot.  When I tried to validate the files it fails on the PLAYER_A.DAT file.  What can I do?

Answer: We are aware that some players have reported crashing at the first load screen on the Steam version of GTA I on newer Windows system due to a PLAYER_A.DAT file that appears to become corrupted after the first time the user plays the game.
